NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Queens man was accused of soliciting a 14-year-old girl for sex, according to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.
Prosecutors allege that 25-year-old Ali Hamed approached the victim on June 25 as she was walking to a bus stop at 7:30 a.m. on 97th Street in Corona. The teenager was on her way to the school bus stop.
Officials allege that Hamed approached the girl and spoke to her in both English and Spanish, offering to pay her $50 if she performed a sex act on him and then made a lewd motion with his hand.
After the victim declined his offer, Hamed offered her $100, according to prosecutors. The girl fled and told her father, and later reported the incident to the 115th precinct.
Hamed surrendered to the 115th precinct on June 27. He is charged with patronizing a person for prostitution in the second and third degrees, criminal solicitation in the fourth degree and endangering the welfare of a child. Hamed is due to return to court Sept. 10. If convicted, he faces up to 1 1/3 to four years in prison.
Anyone who was approached by the defendant is asked to call the Queens District Attorney’s Human Trafficking Bureau at (718) 286-6548.
