VIDEO: Man arrested after allegedly attacking child in Harlem restaurant

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A New York City man was arrested Monday afternoon after police released disturbing video allegedly showing him attacking a young child inside a restaurant.

Authorities said 26-year-old Mandelo Stroman was arrested Monday, after turning himself in, and charged with assault and acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17.

The incident happened Saturday around 6:45 p.m. at a Chinese takeout restaurant at Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard and West 147th Street.

Video showed a man striking a small child, who then falls to the ground.

The man then placed the child in a stroller and left the scene, according to police.

A witness to the attack called 911, but when officers arrived the man and child were gone.
