The incident took place around 4 p.m., when the man entered the FBI offices at 26 Federal plaza and claimed there was an “IED” in the white van parked nearby, police said.

The man was arrested and prompted a response from the NYPD’s bomb squad, which briefly closed off the area nearby as officers investigated the van parked outside of a Starbucks on Worth Street.

Cops cleared the scene after no device was found inside the vehicle —though a dog was recovered from inside the vehicle, according to the New York Post.

The outlet identified the suspect as 33-year-old retired Army sergeant Gerardo Checo Nunez.
