NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – An alleged drunk driver crashed into another vehicle in Queens on Sunday morning, killing a Lyft driver, police said.
The two SUVs collided at Fresh Pond Road and Eliot Avenue in Maspeth shortly before 4 a.m., police said.
The 47-year-old Lyft driver was traveling in a Toyota RAV4 southbound on Fresh Pond Road when his vehicle was struck by a Ford Explorer traveling eastbound on Eliot Avenue, according to police, who said the Ford's driver ran a red light.

Responding officers found the Toyota's driver unresponsive inside the vehicle with trauma to his body. He was rushed to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. He has not been identified.
The Lyft driver's rear passenger suffered a broken leg, police said.
The Ford's 22-year-old driver was transported to Elmhurst Hospital for an evaluation. Police said he was arrested for DWI.
An investigation is ongoing, police said. Citizen App video shows police investigating at the scene after sunrise.
Less than an hour earlier, police said a 53-year-old driver was killed in a hit-and-run crash in South Jamaica.
A 47-year-old man was also injured around 9:30 p.m. Saturday when a vehicle jumped a sidewalk on Leavitt Street in Flushing and struck him, police said. He was taken to New York-Presbyterian Queens in critical but stable condition. Police were still searching for the driver Sunday.
