NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder for allegedly fatally shooting a 16-year-old boy outside a Bronx deli last week, the NYPD said Tuesday.
Marquis Beckford, who lives in a Forest Houses building on East 165th Street, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon on Monday in connection with 16-year-old James Solano's death, police said.
Police responding to a 911 call around 12 p.m. on Dec. 23 found Solano in front of a deli at the corner of Boston Road and East 166th Street in Morrisania with a gunshot wound to his neck, the NYPD said.
Solano was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Beckford's attorney information wasn't immediately available Tuesday.
