NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man who allegedly pulled a 73-year-old woman out of a car in Brooklyn before driving away with her pet dog in the vehicle has been arrested, police said Thursday.
Kamani Romain, 21, of East New York, has been charged with robbery and criminal possession of stolen property in connection with the June 6 incident, the NYPD said.
The victim was sitting in her parked red Honda Civic near Mill Avenue and Mayfair Drive in Mill Basin around 1:15 p.m. on June 6 when Romain — wielding a walking stick — allegedly opened the driver’s side door, police said.
Romain pulled the woman out of the car, got inside and drove off, according to police.
The woman suffered a head injury and was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, police said.

The woman’s dog, a Toy Poodle breed named Luna, was still inside the vehicle when Romain fled, police said.
Both the stolen car and Luna were safely recovered after the robbery, the NYPD confirmed Thursday.
Romain's attorney information wasn't immediately available Thursday.
