NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man was robbed while he was asleep waiting for an Uber in front of a citizenM Hotel in Lower Manhattan, police said Thursday as they released video and images of the suspects.
It happened in front of the hotel on Bowery Street around 12:15 a.m. Saturday.
Cops said two men, who are both 45 to 55 years old, approached the 23-year-old as he slept and removed his wallet and Apple iPhone from his back pocket and a gold chain from around his neck. Both then fled the scene.
The suspects used his Chase credit card to purchase items worth $248 at a 7-11 located at 80 Lafayette St. The value of the iPhone, gold chain and Hugo Boss wallet is approximately $6,150.
No one was injured in the incident.
One man is bald and last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue shorts, black and red sneakers and a black face mask. The second was seen wearing a light green t-shirt, dark green pants, white and black sneakers, a blue hat and a blue mask under his chin.
