
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man attacked a woman in broad daylight on a street in Midtown this week, bashing her over the head in an unprovoked assault on Lexington Avenue, police said.
The 18-year-old victim was standing in front of 50 Lexington Ave., between East 24th and East 25th streets, shortly after 12 p.m. Sunday when the man came up and attacked her, according to cops.
He used an unknown object to strike her over the head and then fled the scene, police said.
She suffered pain and swelling to her head and was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where she was in stable condition.
