NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was beaten to death in a Brooklyn basement on Wednesday morning, police said.
The man was found unconscious and unresponsive with severe head trauma inside a building on Fifth Avenue, near 48th Street, in Sunset Park around 5:30 a.m., police said.
The discovery was made after a 34-year-old man and the victim fought inside the building's basement, the New York Post reported.
The melee sent the unidentified man to NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, where he was pronounced dead.
The 34-year-old was taken into custody and charges are pending, police said.
It's unclear what the two men were fighting about or if they were known to each other.
