NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man fought off a robber at a Park Slope subway station—but not before he was beaten with his own phone, police said.

The NYPD is still searching for the suspect, who they released photos of on Tuesday.

The 37-year-old victim was on the southbound 2/3 platform of the Bergen Street station on the morning of Nov. 18 when he was mugged.

A man simulated a weapon and forcibly removed the victim’s cellphone, police said, but the victim then attempted to retrieve the phone.

During the struggle, the thief punched and kicked the victim and also struck him repeatedly in the face with the stolen phone, according to cops.

The victim was able to recover his phone. He was injured in the scuffle but didn’t require hospitalization, police said.

The suspect fled the scene. He was wearing a Nike mask and a white “Beetlejuice” hoodie at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
