NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD on Monday released photos of a suspect wanted for beating then robbing a woman last week inside a Brooklyn subway station, authorities said.
It happened at approximately 11:35 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14, at the Montrose Avenue subway station on the L subway line, when the suspect approached a 25-year-old woman, officials said.
According to police, the suspect proceeded to strike the woman in her head multiple times with an unknown sharp object, resulting in injuries, then forcibly took her purse.
He then fled the location on foot along Montrose Avenue to parts unknown.
EMS transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospital/Elmhurst in stable condition.
The stolen purse contained $40, a passport, a house key and makeup.
The suspect was seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black sneakers, and a blue surgical mask while carrying a white shopping bag.
