Man charged for stabbing breakdancer aboard L train in the East Village: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 44-year-old Brooklyn man has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed a 22-year-old male breakdancer multiple times in an unprovoked aboard a a Brooklyn-bound L train on Thursday, police said Friday.

Lateef Coleman is charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police were called at 2 p.m. after the victim was stabbed twice in the leg and once in the arm as the train approached the 14th Street and 3rd Avenue subway station in the East Village.

Cops said Coleman fled the train at the 14th Street and 1st Avenue subway station.

ABC 7 reports that the victim reportedly stayed on the train after he was stabbed and got off at the Bedford Station in Williamsburg.

The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/ Bellevue in stable condition, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
