NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police arrested a man earlier this week after he allegedly repeatedly shot and killed a man in the Bronx earlier this month.

At around 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 28, authorities arrested 36-year-old Frederick Freeman. He was charged with murder, according to the NYPD.

At approximately 1:12 a.m., on Thursday, Aug. 15, police responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress in front of 1310 Sheridan Ave. in the Concourse neighborhood.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 27-year-old Muhamadou Gumaneh with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.

EMS transported Gumaneh to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln where he was pronounced dead.

Police believe Gumaneh was not an intended target in the shooting.

Freeman is due back in Manhattan Supreme Criminal Court on Oct. 16 for charges related to a different arrest.
