NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man was arraigned Monday on charges he stabbed his wife to death earlier this month at the spa in Queens where she worked.
Jiahai Ma, 25, was charged with murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon by a grand jury indictment in Queens Supreme Court.
In a statement Tuesday, Queens D.A. Melinda Katz said the victim, Guimei Tang, was repeatedly stabbed on the evening of Sept. 3, calling the attack "brutal."
Tang, 26, was working at the spa at 4139 Kissena Blvd. around 5:40 p.m. when Ma walked in and got into an argument with her, according to the indictment.

During the fight, he allegedly took a knife and stabbed her in the neck, chest and arm.
She died at New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital.
Ma stayed at the scene and was covered in what appeared to be blood when officers from the NYPD's 109th Precinct arrived, court docs allege.
A knife recovered at the scene was also covered in what appeared to be blood, according to the indictment.
Ma and Tang lived a short walk from the spa on Cherry Avenue. It's unclear what they were arguing about at the time of the stabbing.
Katz urged anyone experiencing domestic violence to contact her office's 24-hour hotline at 718-286-4410 for help with safety planning services, securing an order of protection or shelter placement.
