BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A Queens man was arrested in New Jersey on charges of kidnapping and sexual assault after he allegedly attacked an adult victim multiple times, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office announced on Monday.

On Oct. 21, the Englewood Police Department contacted the prosecutor’s office Special Victims Unit about the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault that began in August 2024.

An investigation determined that Miguel Chimbo-Orellana, 37, had abducted and sexually abused the victim in Englewood, New Jersey and Queens, New York on multiple occasions.

Prosecutors said that he also threatened to kill the victim.

Chimbo-Orellena was charged on Oct. 21 with kidnapping, sexual assault, witness tampering, criminal restraint, terroristic threats and contempt of court

He was apprehended by detectives in Englewood on Oct. 24 and remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first court appearance in Hackensack.
