NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man who was caught on surveillance video stealing an electric scooter from a 7-year-old boy in Brooklyn earlier this month has been arrested, the NYPD said.
Daniel Ufares, 59, of Bushwick, was charged with robbery and criminal possession of stolen property on Monday, the NYPD said. His attorney information wasn't immediately available.
The video, tweeted by Boro Park Shomrim, showed a man stopping the boy as he rode down a sidewalk in Kensington around 7 p.m. on July 7.
The NYPD released a second video of the suspect. They said the man blocked the boy near 36th Street and 12th Avenue before stealing the scooter and riding away with it.

The boy was not physically injured, police said.
The NYPD's 66th Precinct said they were able to provide the boy with a new scooter and helmet.
