NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police released new surveillance video on Sunday as they search for a man who they say choked and robbed a 76-year-old woman in her Bronx apartment after offering to help her.
The woman was trying to open the door of her apartment at her building near Wyatt Street and Devoe Avenue in the Van Nest section on Dec. 16 when she was approached by the man, who offered to help her, police said.

Instead, the man pushed the woman inside her apartment and began choking her while demanding money and jewelry, according to police.
The man stole a jewelry box from a bedroom drawer worth $800 and then fled, police said.
The woman suffered a minor laceration to her nose and refused medical attention.
The NYPD released surveillance video showing the suspect in a hallway of the building as they continue to search for him.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
