Man crashes SUV after midtown Manhattan stabbing

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man stabbed another man and then drove off in an SUV before crashing the vehicle in midtown Manhattan on Saturday afternoon, police said.

Police believe a domestic dispute may have sparked the stabbing at W. 35th Street and Eighth Avenue shortly after 3 p.m., according to the New York Post.


Police said a 41-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach by a man who then hopped in a Nissan Pathfinder and sped off.

The man drove the SUV for several blocks before crashing on a sidewalk at W. 37th Street and Eighth Avenue, according to the report.

Citizen App video shows the Pathfinder against a building and surrounded by police tape. Police said no pedestrians were hurt in the crash.

Police are searching for the suspect, who fled the crash scene.

The 41-year-old stabbing victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report.
