NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating a collision on a Queens expressway that left a man critically injured on Monday, authorities said.
At around 7 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a vehicle collision at Nassau Expressway and Cohancy Street in Jamaica, officials said.
A preliminary investigation determined that a 46-year-old man driving a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer was traveling east on the Nassau Expressway when he
struck a guardrail and the collided with a tree.
The driver was taken to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition.
An investigation remains ongoing.
