NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A man was seriously injured in an early morning stabbing in upper Manhattan, and detectives are searching for the assailant.

Police found a 34-year-old man stabbed in the stomach near the corner of Dyckman Street and Broadway in Inwood at about 4:40 a.m., authorities said.


EMS rushed the wounded man to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem where he was listed in critical, but stable, condition.

The motive for the stabbing and circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately clear.

The 34th Precinct, which envelopes Washington Heights and Inwood, has seen a 10.2% increase in felony assault through May 12, 2024 when compared to the same time last year, according to the latest NYPD data.

Officials are seeking a suspect who was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black sweater and sneakers.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
