Police said Manuel Frias was arrested and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

The incident happened around 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of West 125th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard.

According to police, 23-year-old Isiah John was shot in the chest and immediately transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition where he later died.

The New York Daily News reports Frias and an accomplice confronted John and another man outside a Boost Mobile store on W. 125th St. near Frederick Douglass Blvd. in a robbery over weed.

Frias reportedly fired once, then chased John across the street and shot him several times in front of the Gap Factory store.

The incident happened just hours after a 26-year-old man died after he was also shot in the chest at the corner of East 103rd Street and Third Avenue in East Harlem.
