NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man died in a fire that tore through an apartment complex in Harlem Thursday morning, the NYPD said.
The fire broke out inside a building on Broadway, near West 125th Street, around 7 a.m., police said.
Officers responding to the blaze found the man unconscious and unresponsive, with body trauma, inside an apartment on the 12th floor, the NYPD said.
EMS workers pronounced him dead at the scene, police said. The department didn't immediately release the man's name or age.
The FDNY will determine what sparked the blaze. An investigation is ongoing.
