Man dies nearly a week after double shooting on Queens street: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after a man shot during a double shooting in Queens earlier this month died almost a week later, according to authorities.

The incident happened at approximately 8:35 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, when police responded to a 911 call of two males shot at the corner of 97 Street and 57 Avenue in Elmhurst.

Upon arrival, officers observed two men with gunshot wounds, officials said.

According to police, 27-year-old Jordan Gilliam was shot in the right shoulder and buttocks and a 37-year-old man was shot in both thighs.

EMS transported both victims to Elmhurst Hospital, where Gilliam was pronounced dead on Wednesday, December 22.

The second victim remained in stable condition, the NYPD said.

There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
