NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after a 28-year-old man was found dead inside an elevator shaft in Lower Manhattan over the weekend, officials said Sunday.
The body was found at about 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, inside the shaft between the first and second floors in a building located at Lafayette Street near Walker Street, authorities said.
The victim's body was pulled out of the shaft by first responders.
Police are investigating how the man became lodged inside the shaft.
The medical examiner will. determine his cause of death. No criminality is suspected at this time, according to the NYPD.
