NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A teen girl was shot in the knee and a 37-year-old man was repeatedly shot in separate incidents Monday night in Brooklyn, officials said.
Police said just before 10:30 p.m., the teen victim was walking with another person on Winthrop Street in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens blocks away from Prospect Park when she was struck by a gunman who fired shots from a gray vehicle.
The teen was transported to Kings County Hospital Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities are investigating whether she was the intended target.
Hours earlier, at approximately 8 p.m., a 37-year-old man was shot in the leg four times inside the Oceanview Laundromat on Ocean Avenue near in Prospect Park South, police said.
The victim was also taken to Kings County Hospital Center in stable condition. An investigation is ongoing as police look into the motive for the shooting.
