Man gropes, tries to punch woman at Bronx subway station: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a man who allegedly groped a woman and tried to punch her in the face inside a Bronx subway station.

The 56-year-old woman was walking up the stairs inside the Freeman Street 2 and 5 train station around 8 a.m. on Sept. 16 when the man grabbed her buttocks, the NYPD said Tuesday.


The woman exchanged words with the man and walked toward the subway turnstile, at which point the man tried to punch her in the face, police said.

He fled the subway station after his attempt to attack the woman was unsuccessful, the NYPD said.

The man is approximately 38 years old, stands at around five feet, 10 inches, weighs around 190 pounds and was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweater, a neon green safety vest, black pants and black shoes, police said.
