NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — The NYPD on Tuesday released surveillance footage of a man they have identified as a suspect in an attempted rape of woman on Bronx street last month.

Police have identified the suspect as 45-year-old Miguel Rivera.

At approximately 1:32 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, in the vicinity of Vireo Avenue and East 235th Street in Woodlawn Heights authorities said Rivera approached a 26-year-old woman from behind, placed her in a chokehold, and dragged to the ground.

Rivera fled the location in a blue scooter to parts unknown. He was last seen wearing a black hat, a black shirt, gray pants, and black sneakers.

The victim sustained minor abrasions from this incident and refused further medical attention on scene.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
