NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man died after he was shot outside of a Staten Island school on Monday afternoon, police said.
The shooting happened around 3:15 p.m. on Beach Street and Union Place close to the entrance of Eden II, a private school for children and young adults with autism, cops said.
According to police, the 26-year-old victim was shot in the chest and transported to Richmond University Medical Center in critical condition.
The victim, identified as Michael Evans, was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The shooter fled in a car but officials did not have a solid description of the vehicle.
No arrests had been reported as of Tuesday amid an ongoing investigation.
