NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A man went on a rampage at a Staten Island bodega when he was denied loosie cigarettes on Monday, punching a worker in the face and stealing $35 from a tip jar, police said.

The NYPD released images Tuesday of the suspect they're searching for.

The man walked into the shop at Clove Road and Hylan Boulevard in the Arrochar neighborhood around 12:30 p.m. and asked for the loosies, according to police.

When a 35-year-old worker told him they don't sell individual cigarettes, the man grew "irate," went behind the counter and punched him in the face, police said.

He then stole the cash from the tip jar and fled the business on foot, according to police.

The victim declined medical attention at the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
