Man, 28, killed after hitting head while jumping Queens subway turnstile: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 28-year-old man died after he attempted to jump the turnstile at a Queens subway station early Sunday, police said.

The incident happened at around 6:45 a.m. at the Forest Hills-71st Avenue train station as the victim tried to skip paying the station's fare and struck his head on the mezzanine floor.

Cops said EMS responded to the report of an unconscious individual and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His identity has not been released at this time.
