NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police released images Monday of a man who allegedly sicced his dog on a subway rider who had confronted him about the pooch at the Union Square station.
Images show the suspect—wearing a camouflage jacket and leading his large dog through the station—around the time of the attack on Saturday evening.
According to police, a 54-year-old man got into an argument about the dog in the station around 5:20 p.m.
That’s when the suspect allegedly slapped the victim across the face. He then removed his dog’s muzzle and ordered the canine to attack the victim, police said.
The dog bit the victim on his hand, causing several lacerations, according to cops.
EMS transported the victim to NYU Langone Tisch Hospital in stable condition.
The suspect fled on foot with his dog and hasn’t been seen since.
According to the MTA, all dogs and pets must be in a bag or container, regardless of their size, when on the subways and buses.
