NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is searching for an assailant who pistol-whipped and robbed a man on the subway in Midtown, police announced Wednesday.

The 35-year-old victim was riding on an E train approaching the 42nd Street-Port Authority subway station when he was approached by the suspect at about 4:30 a.m. on Sunday. The suspect then began beating the victim with a firearm, before taking the victim’s iPhone 14 Pro Max. Police say the suspect then fled to another train car before leaving the scene.

The victim suffered minor injuries but was not hospitalized, officials said.
