NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — The NYPD on Thursday released surveillance footage of a man who held up a Brooklyn coin dealer while posing as a police officer last month.
The incident happened just after 10 a.m. back on Nov. 15 at Hownil Coins, located at 32-36 Nostrand Ave. in the Sheepshead Bay section of the borough.
The suspect, who was wearing a neon green safety vest and a badge on a chain around his neck, walked into the establishment, pulled out a handgun and demanded money from a 73-year-old man inside the business.
The victim complied and forked over $20 in cash.

The suspect then fled the scene and was last seen heading eastbound on Avenue S in a black SUV being driven by a getaway driver.

The suspect is described by police as a White man. He was also wearing a black mask, a black knit hat, and blue jeans at the time of the incident. No description of his accomplice was released.
