NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man was attacked at a Bronx subway station on Monday morning after getting into an argument with another subway rider, police said.
The fight broke out at about 11:22 a.m. at the Prospect Avenue subway station in Longwood, and escalated to violence when the assailant punched the victim in the face and slashed him with a sharp object.
The 57-year-old victim was treated at the scene and is in stable condition.

It was not immediately clear what prompted the dispute between the men.
After the assault, the attacker fled the station in an unknown direction. He was last seen wearing khaki pants and carrying a black backpack, police said.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
