VIDEO: Man punched in the head in anti-gay attack in Manhattan, police say

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An attacker punched a 24-year-old man in the head twice and hurled an anti-gay slur at him in an attack that was caught on surveillance video, the NYPD said Thursday.

The 24-year-old was in front of a building on Broad Street, near South William Street, in Manhattan's Financial District around 11:35 p.m. on Sept. 26 when another man directed an anti-gay slur at him and punched him twice, once in the face and once in the back of the head, police said.

The attack left the 24-year-old with a cut lip and a bloody nose, the NYPD said.

His attacker, a blonde man who was last seen wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, black shorts and black sneakers, fled the scene on foot, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
