Man randomly punches MTA employee on Manhattan subway platform: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An attacker randomly punched an MTA employee in the head on a subway platform in Manhattan last month, the NYPD said Tuesday.

The 44-year-old MTA employee was walking on the southbound A train platform at the 207th Street subway station in Inwood around 8:40 p.m. on Oct. 28 when a man approached him from behind and punched him in the back of the head several times, police said.

The man fled the station after the attack, the NYPD said. The MTA employee was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, the department said.

The alleged attacker was last seen wearing a black and grey sweatshirt and red sweatpants, police said.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
