NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a man who put an 81-year-old woman in a chokehold at a Queens bank and threatened to hurt her if the teller didn’t hand over cash on Thursday.
The man approached the woman from behind and wrapped his arm around her neck around 11:37 p.m. at Ridgewood Savings Bank on Myrtle Avenue near 65th Street, according to officials.
He demanded money from the teller who handed over about $205, authorities said. He then released the woman and fled on foot.
The victim suffered minor injuries but refused medical attention on the scene.
