NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The decomposing body of a 58-year-old man was discovered in his Brooklyn apartment over the weekend, police said Monday.
Cops found the dead body at about 12:40 p.m. on Sunday after someone called to report a foul odor coming from the unit in a building on Madison Street near Malcolm X Boulevard in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
Sources told 1010 WINS that he had a knife sticking out of his neck.
The body had begun to decompose, though it was not immediately clear how long he had been dead. Authorities did not immediately release the man's name.
The case is being investigated as a homicide, but investigators are still waiting for the city medical examiner to determine cause of death.
