NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a man they believe has been sneaking into the bedrooms of young girls in the Bronx and sexually assaulting them.
Authorities identified 31-year-old Ernest Robinson as a suspect for two incidents that took place two years apart.
On March 11, 2021, a 10-year-old girl woke up just after midnight to a man rubbing his penis on her at her home near the intersection of Boston Road and East 166th Street in Morrisania, according to officials.
The girl was not physically injured during the attack.
Police believe the same man is responsible for a similar incident in which a man attempted to rape a 9-year-old girl who was sleeping in her bedroom in Crotona.
The attack took place just after midnight on May 28 at a home near the intersection of Belmont Avenue and East 179th Street, according to authorities. Police did not specify whether the young victim suffered physical injuries in this attack.
The NYPD is asking anyone with information on Robinson to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Anonymous tips can also be submitted on the Crime Stoppers website or on Twitter @NYPDTips.
