NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man who was checking on a "strange noise" he heard outside his Queens Village apartment was shot in the shoulder by a gunman early Saturday, police said.
The 31-year-old victim said he heard a noise in the hallway of his building at 212th Street and 99th Avenue and was shot as he investigated the sound, police told the Daily News.
The man was at his front door around 5:20 a.m. when he was shot in the right shoulder by the gunman, according to police, who said it's unclear if he was shot through the door or after the door was opened.

The man was hospitalized at Long Island Jewish Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report.
Police are continuing to investigate the shooting. Citizen App video from Saturday morning shows NYPD vehicles and crime scene tape at the building.
No arrests have been reported.
