NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a suspect who shoved another man onto the tracks at a Brooklyn subway station Saturday morning.

Just before 11:40 a.m., officials said that a 33-year-old man was involved in a verbal argument with another man on the southbound D and N platform at the Atlantic Avenue–Barclays Center subway station.

The altercation escalated to physical violence when the suspect pushed the victim onto the tracks. He then fled on foot, police said.

The victim suffered minor injuries but refused medical attention at the scene, authorities said.

The reason the men were arguing was not immediately clear, and police have classified the attack as reckless endangerment.

Police released surveillance footage of the assailant on Saturday evening that shows the man jumping the subway turnstile while wearing black sneakers, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and pair of pants, and a black knit cap with three white stripes. He was also carrying a backpack and Party City bag.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
