NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Police are searching for a suspect who they say has been slapping women at random inside Brooklyn subway stations.

The NYPD released an image Friday of the suspect, who's been linked to two unprovoked attacks this month in Ocean Hill.

The first assault was on the morning of May 16. A 49-year-old woman was inside the mezzanine of the Atlantic Avenue L station when she was approached by the man just before 7 a.m.

He slapped her on the side of the head so hard that her glasses flew off and were broken, police said.

She suffered an abrasion to her ear, as she was wearing an earbud-style headphone at the time. Police said her injuries were minor and that she declined further medical attention at the scene.

A day later, on May 17, a 67-year-old woman was inside the mezzanine of the Halsey Street J station around 10:25 a.m. when the same man slapped the left side of her face, according to police.

The force of the blow caused the victim to fall to the floor and scrape her right knee. She declined further medical attention at the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
