NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man slashed a good Samaritan who intervened as he was harassing and slapping subway riders at a Brooklyn station, police said Tuesday.
The slashing happened at the Bedford Avenue station in Williamsburg on Sunday night.
The slasher was harassing subway riders—and even slapped one of them—when a 36-year-old man tried to stop him, police said.
That's when the assailant whipped out a cutting instrument and slashed the man in the good Samaritan in the face, according to police.
EMS transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.
Police are searching for the suspect, who was last seen fleeing the station on foot.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
