NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man was slashed during an argument on a Bronx subway train late Friday, police said as they continued their search for at least one suspect.
The 47-year-old victim had gotten into an argument with at least one man before he was attacked around 11:50 p.m. at the Freeman Street station in East Morrisania.
The man suffered a slash wound to his head, according to police. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital.
Police said there may be more than one suspect. No arrests had been reported as of Saturday.
It was the latest in a number of slashings across the transit system in recent days.
Two men and two women were slashed in separate incidents in Manhattan late Thursday and Friday morning. A man was also slashed in the face at a Brooklyn station on Thursday morning.
This week, the NYPD said crimes in the transit system jumped 93.1% from 87 incidents in May 2020 to 168 incidents in May 2021.
