
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a man who slashed a commuter’s face and stole his construction tools on a southbound N train in Manhattan on Friday.
The train had just pulled into the Union Square subway station around 3:47 p.m. when the thief grabbed a 27-year-old man’s bag and walked onto the platform, according to authorities.
The man followed and the two reportedly got into an argument, at which point the suspect slashed the man’s face with a knife and fled.
EMS treated the cut on the scene.
The victim lost construction tools and a pair of boots worth about $420 total.
