VIDEO: Man sought in armed assault, robbery of woman on Queens street

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is looking to identify a man in connection with an armed sexual assault and robbery that occurred in Queens earlier this month.

On March 15, at 1:15 a.m., a 36-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of 70th Street and Roosevelt Avenue in Woodside when an unidentified man approached her, displayed a handgun, and forced her to walk with him, officials said.

The suspect led the victim to the rear of 41-47 70 Street, where he sexually assaulted her then removed $60 and the victim’s cellphone from her coat pocket, according to police.

The suspect then fled on foot, southbound on 70th Street.

Officials said the victim fled for safety and later reported the incident to police.

The unidentified man is described as white or white-Hispanic, 20- to 25-years-old, and was wearing a black jacket, light color pants, and black sneakers.

Police late Monday released footage of the unidentified man inside of a deli located at 68-30 Roosevelt Avenue about 20 minutes before the incident.
