NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A would-be rapist sexually assaulted two women in Brooklyn's Prospect Park over a five-hour span last weekend, police said Sunday as they released a sketch of a suspect.

The women were both attacked in broad daylight last Saturday near Prospect Park West and 5th Street on the west side of the park, according to police.

In the first incident, a 34-year-old woman was in the park around 1 p.m. when a man came up from behind and pushed her against large rocks while placing his hand over her mouth, police said.

The man held the woman's arms together and pressed his body against hers. He then took out a condom wrapper and threatened to hurt her, police said.

The man placed the wrapper on the rocks and let go of the woman, who ran away, police said.

About 4 1/2 hours later, around 4:30 p.m., a 57-year-old woman was walking along a trail in the same area when she encountered a man masturbating, police said.

The woman walked past the man and he began to follower her. When the woman turned around to see if he was behind her, he committed a lewd act on her and she ran away, police said.

Neither woman was physically injured in the attacks, according to police.

The NYPD believes the suspect is between 25 and 30 years old.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
