NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- NYPD officials are investigating another anti-Asian hate crime that occurred in Manhattan this week.
According to police, at around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a man on a Manhattan train hurled insults at a 44-year-old woman before spitting on her and then tossing her phone onto the tracks in front of her children.
The incident happened on a southbound 5 train rerouted to Times Square on the 3 line, officials said.
The suspect called the woman an "Asian slut" and told her she "brought the virus" and "go back to your country," sources told the New York Post.
He also said "your mom's going to kill you," the report added.
The victim began recording the man when he struck her hand, causing her phone to fall, police said.
The man then opened the train door between cars, kicking the phone onto the tracks, officials added.
The suspect exited the train at Times Square and fled.
The victim was taken to Mount Sinai West to be treated for pain on her hand.
It is not know how many children were with the woman, or their ages.
The incident is being investigated as possible bias incidents, officials said.
