NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A would-be robber stabbed a man during a street mugging in Greenwich Village on Tuesday morning, police said.

The 37-year-old victim was stabbed around 5 a.m. during the attempted robbery at Bleecker and MacDougal streets, according to cops.

The suspect, who remains at large, stabbed the victim in the back and demanded money from him, police said.

He then fled without stealing anything, according to police.

The victim was hospitalized in stable condition at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue.
