NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man was stabbed several times in an unprovoked attack aboard a subway train in Brooklyn early Friday morning, police said.
The attack happened on a southbound 4 train around 12 a.m. as the train approached the Nevins Street station in downtown Brooklyn, according to police.
A 37-year-old man was on the train when he was approached by a man who stabbed him several times with a sharp object.
Police said the attack was unprovoked and the two did not have contact prior to the stabbing.
The attacker fled the train at the Nevins Street station and exited to the street.
The victim suffered multiple puncture wounds to his right leg and left arm. He was transported to NY-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital by EMS in stable condition.
